“After years of struggling with “picky eating”, Nathan was recently diagnosed with ARFID. Food causes him great anxiety and often he needs to eat in a different room because the smells and look of food is too much for him.

He is an amazing athlete, wonderful friend, and the best kid who is working hard to acknowledge his food struggles and overcome them.”

Johnny was diagnosed with autism in October. Every challenge that has come with this diagnosis is overshadowed by the amazing little boy that brings so much light to the people lucky enough to know him. When I look at Johnny, I see perfection, I see joy, I see a little boy that knows who he is and what he brings to the world; he’s just waiting for everyone else to catch up.

“Noah has always known he was “different”. The way he talks and thinks, he’s simultaneously more mature and more childish than 12. He embraces his differences though. He’s proud of his interests and curious about a lot of things many his age overlook. Some days are tough but he’s come so far. And really he’s just like other kids - he wants to laugh with friends, dance at parties and revel in the joys of childhood.”

“Payton was diagnosed at 4 years old but has only come to accept it a couple of years ago. He is sweet, funny, and intelligent and often times it works against him because people do not understand his disability and expect more than he is capable of giving. Payton is amazing. He wants a fulfilling career, friends, and love like all of us. When I look at him I see the little 4 year old that wanted to be a Paleontologist and also the man who is worthy of all the wonderful things life has to offer.”

Once we really “saw” Laurel how Laurel wanted to be seen, we started to see a huge improvement in many of the behaviors that were getting Laurel in trouble in school. Today, Laurel still struggles with friendships, but not from a lack of wanting them. Laurel has also started finding a lot of great personal talents and hobbies - such as drawing and karate - and we are so hopeful that we’ll be able to make a great friendship connection this year!
